Jihadi John identified

The U.S. authorities have identified the brutal killer Jihadi John in ISIS videos as 27-year old British man named Mohammed Emwazi. He appeared in highly publicized video beheadings by the ISIS. He is responsible for beheadings of number of captives in 2013 and 2014.

Born in Kuwait in 1988, Emwazi came to the United Kingdom in 1994 at age six and educated at the Kynaston Community Academy in St John’s Wood, north of London. In 2009 he obtained a degree in computing from the University of Westminster. He was reported missing by his parents in 2013. The family later learned that he had entered Syria.

Authorities now claim that he is responsible for several videoed beheadings including the U.S. journalist Steven Sotloff, British aid worker David Haines, British taxi driver Alan Henning and American aid worker Abdul-Rahman Kassig, also known as Peter Kassig.

Teachers and people associated with him were stunned to see him named Jihadi John who killed several people. They found him to be shy and hard working. He attempted several times to go back to Kuwait to live with father’s family members but were denied his reentry into the country. What made him a Jihadi and a killer is not known at this time. Authorities are also unable to find how he got radicalized.
